Aim
To provide an overview of antimicrobial stewardship in a socially-distanced primary care setting.
Intended learning outcomes
Having completed this webinar you will be able to:
- Understand how antibiotic usage has changed due to COVID
- Highlight the importance of antimicrobial stewardship within a pandemic
- Review resources available to manage common infections and approaches to using them in a socially distanced setting
- Manage patients who are on frequent or long-term courses of antibiotics to optimum effect
- Work within local guidance in relation to sending samples or to dip urine
- Work with other healthcare professionals to improve the management of patients with urinary tract infections in care homes.
