Aim
To provide an update on the current evidence base relating to the therapeutic management of chronic pain in primary care.

Intended learning outcomes
Having completed this webinar, you will be able to:

• Understand how Chronic Pain differs to Acute Pain
• Be familiar with the recommendations of the NICE guidance on Chronic Primary Pain
• Describe updates to the NI Formulary in relation to the management of pain
• Prescribe effective pharmacological options for the management of patients with chronic pain in line with NIF
• Discuss the risks of long-term opioid prescribing and strategies to limit the inappropriate use/misuse of analgesics
• Work with other healthcare professionals to identify and effect change to current practice where required.
